The online abstract submission form can be found
at
APS Online Contributed Abstract Submission.
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is Friday,
August 12, 2005 at 5:00 pm EDT. Please proof your abstract before
submission. NOTE: Abstracts are no longer accepted via email. Contributed
abstracts may be submitted only via the web in accordance with the
instructions on the APS website at
http://www.aps.org/meet/abstracts/online.cfm .
Before submitting an abstract, please note the
following APS policy. For the regular program, authors of contributed
abstracts are limited to one
abstract (oral or poster) on which they appear as first author.
Furthermore, the first author of the abstract should always be the
presenting author. Out of courtesy to attendees of the meeting, an
abstract should not be submitted if the first listed author does not
actually plan to attend the meeting. APS policy indicates that if more
than one abstract is submitted with the same first author, one abstract
will be placed in a regular session while the other abstracts may receive
supplemental status, which means that they will be placed in the meeting
program on the basis of available time, at the discretion of the meeting
organizers. The intention of this policy is that no person should present
more than one contributed paper. Invited speakers may submit one
contributed abstract in addition to their invited abstract.
To submit a contributed abstract using the
online web submission process, an author needs to know three things:
1.
the number
and ordering of authors and collaborators;
2.
the sorting
category below; and
3.
the
abstract content.
The web page will guide you through the abstract
submission. It may be useful to try a test submission before submitting
the final abstract. Log onto
http://abstracts.aps.org and select "Prepare an abstract", then select
"Test web abstract". Follow the directions online to create a practice
abstract. When you are ready to submit the abstract online, select the DFD
2005 Meeting by clicking the appropriate button. A form will be created
for you. Simply input the information.
Invited speakers should refer to their letter of
invitation for instructions on locating the invited speaker abstract
template.
