Due to the large attendance
expected at the DFD meeting and many special events in Chicago, the
Chicago Hilton has very few rooms available, particularly for Saturday
night, November 19. (Rooms at the conference rate are no longer
available.) If you still need a room, we recommend that you act
immediately and use one of following two alternatives:
-
Call the Chicago Hilton directly
at 1-312-922-4400 and see if any rooms are still available for lower
rates at least during nights other than Saturday. You should be able to
stay at a hotel near the Chicago Hilton or near the airport on Saturday
night and move to the Chicago Hilton for the remaining nights; OR
-
Stay at one of the nearby hotels
for the duration of the meeting (star ratings based on
expedia.com):
Closest hotels to Hilton
with comparable level to the Chicago
Hilton (3.5 stars) include:
◊ Palmer House Hilton (3.5 stars) - 6 blocks (0.75 mi) to Hilton
◊ Hotel Alegro (3.5 stars) - 9 blocks (~ 1 mi) to Hilton
◊ Club Quarters, Central Loop (3.5 stars) - 10 blocks (~ 1 mi) to Hilton
Hotels that are close but do not have the same level of
amenities as the Chicago Hilton:
◊ Essex Inn (2 stars) - Next door to Hilton
◊ Travelodge Hotel Downtown (2 stars) - 2 blocks from Hilton
◊ Best Western Grant Park (2 stars) - 3 blocks from Hilton
We recommend that you use online travel services for making reservations,
where rooms at these hotels are still available. In addition, web
sites like
TripAdvisor.com are useful for honest appraisals of hotels.
Sharing a Room
If
you are interested in sharing a hotel room at the Chicago Hilton with
another participant at the DFD meeting, contact the conference

persons seeking to share a room. When contacting "Meetings and More"
please note your gender (male/female), smoking preference

shared with other persons requesting to share a room is your name, gender,
